A Week with Daddy....

this has been a special week for me. my aunt eeeso was scheduled to have a baby tuesday, so mommy went to help her for the week. my daddy took the week off of work to take care of me. since he knew i'd miss mommy so badly, he wanted to make it an extra-special week. each day we did something special...

monday
we dropped off mommy at the airport and i didn't realize she was leaving, so when she said goodbye she was fighting back tears and i was looking at the fast cars going by! just in case i felt lonely, daddy shared his ice cream with me before bed.

tuesday
i like to jog with daddy sometimes, so today we went to the trail where he runs through the woods and pushes my stroller. we ran 3 miles together...it was exhausting! when we finished he took me on the playground there. it was my first time on that playground and i got annoyed with daddy because he thought it was a playground for big kids, and he held my hand the entire time. later we went by the post office, and the nice man at the counter gave me a lollipop. about half of it i drooled onto my shirt, but it was tasty! we went home and ate pasta salad for lunch. mommy knows we both love it, so we finished it off by the end of the week.

wednesday
i decided to wake up a little early today to surprise daddy. we went to the post office again today, and the man gave me another lollipop...so
good! daddy wanted to take me to a better park today, so we went to the playground that has steps my size. i had so much fun crawling through the tunnel there! i was lucky because daddy met a friend from our church for lunch, so we walked u p the street to 5 guys burger & fries. i had a lot of french fries for lunch, while daddy talked with his friend. the best part was daddy forgot to get me a cup of water, so he shared his diet coke with me--mommy never does that! then we went home and i took a nap. i take long naps for mommy, but i like to spend so much time with daddy i decided to take short naps all week. before bed daddy gave me a bath, and i wanted to stay until the water was cold and i was shivering. then we ate some m ore ice cream together. (don't tell mommy, but we did that almost every night this week!)

thursday
i thought daddy needed to run again today, so we ran 4 miles. later daddy wanted to do something special for me, so he took me to my favorite restaurant: chick fil a. we shared daddy's chicken strips, and then he let me play in the play area longer than i ever have before. even though we played for a long time, i was still upset when we left. but then daddy took me to the grocery store to pick up a couple things, and before we checked out he went to the florist area and picked out a balloon for me. i love balloons. it didn't make me stop missing mommy, but it definitely helped.

friday
this was my last day with just daddy, and it was exhausting! we got up early again. after i shared a bagel and cream cheese with daddy (my new favorite breakfast) he loaded me into the car and we went to the metro. after what seemed like a really long ride we got out in washington dc at the national archives stop and walked to the national gallery of art. daddy loves art and mommy thinks it's just okay, so this was a great chance for him to take his time looking at all kinds of art. the claude monet paintings were my and daddy's favorite. but really my favorite thing to do was push help daddy push my stroller. if he stopped to look at a painting for a couple seconds i got really annoyed--i wanted to keep pushing! after being at the museum for an hour and having fun, i was really, really, really hungry! daddy doesn't understand my schedule like mommy does, so i tried to tell him i was hungry. but to him it just sounded like i was screaming and crying. finally, after 45 minutes of me telling him, he finally got a clue and took me to m
cdonald's at the smithsonian air and space museum. after i got some food and shared his diet coke i was much happier. then we went back to the national gallery and looked at some more paintings. i'm like mommy and can only look at paintings for so long, so i fell asleep. since i seemed happy, daddy parked us at the indoor garden at the museum and read a book for awhile. then it was time to go home. we stopped at starbucks, but daddy wouldn't share with me--he said something like it was too hot. i really had fun on the train ride back to our car, but didn't enjoy the car ride home. i laid down for a little while at home, then played with daddy and finished my pasta salad.

i had a GREAT week with my daddy, and i can tell he loves me very much. but my life is just not right when mommy's around. (daddy seems grumpier too!) i'm glad she was able to help my aunt eeeso with my new cousin sable, but i can't wait to see my mommy when i wake up tomorrow.

My New Cousin

Mommy left me this week! I'm spending the whole week with Daddy and having a blast. She left on Monday night because her sister was having a baby today...my new cousin. She was born at 4:10 pm and weighed 6lbs, 9 oz. She was 19.5 inches long...She was tiny compared to me. Her name is Sable Paige Gibson and really really cute. Right after she was born, I got to see her on the computer because we iChatted with Mommy. Mommy really misses me. She kept telling me over and over. I'm having a lot of fun with Daddy though. He's taking me running, reading books to me, and feeding me ice cream. I think I'll get to meet her next month when we go back for Aunt Emma's wedding in Louisville...Mommy's planning on staying longer so that I can meet baby Sable. Here is a picture of Mommy and Sable right after she was born!

A Day at the Pumpkin Patch

Mommy and Daddy decided to take me on a trip today that was so fun. We went to a farm that had a petting zoo, lots of pumpkins, and we even took a hayride. I loved looking at all of the animals. We even fed some billy goats! Mommy took a lot of pictures...

Fall is here...

Since it's been a little bit cooler out, Mommy has gotten out my long-sleeved Fall stuff...she thought I looked really cute in this outfit so we took some pictures together.
