monday
we dropped off mommy at the airport and i didn't realize she was leaving, so when she said goodbye she was fighting back tears and i was looking at the fast cars going by! just in case i felt lonely, daddy shared his ice cream with me before bed.

tuesday
i like to jog with daddy sometimes, so today we went to the trail where he runs through the woods and pushes my stroller. we ran 3 miles together...it was exhausting! when we finished he took me on the playground there. it was my first time on that playground and i got annoyed with daddy because he thought it was a playground for big kids, and he held my hand the entire time. later we went by the post office, and the nice man at the counter gave me a lollipop. about half of it i drooled onto my shirt, but it was tasty! we went home and ate pasta salad for lunch. mommy knows we both love it, so we finished it off by the end of the week.

wednesday
i decided to wake up a little early today to surprise daddy. we went to the post office again today, and the man gave me another lollipop...so good! daddy wanted to take me to a better park today, so we went to the playground that has steps my size. i had so much fun crawling through the tunnel there! i was lucky because daddy met a friend from our church for lunch, so we walked u p the street to 5 guys burger & fries. i had a lot of french fries for lunch, while daddy talked with his friend. the best part was daddy forgot to get me a cup of water, so he shared his diet coke with me--mommy never does that! then we went home and i took a nap. i take long naps for mommy, but i like to spend so much time with daddy i decided to take short naps all week. before bed daddy gave me a bath, and i wanted to stay until the water was cold and i was shivering. then we ate some m ore ice cream together. (don't tell mommy, but we did that almost every night this week!)
i thought daddy needed to run again today, so we ran 4 miles. later daddy wanted to do something special for me, so he took me to my favorite restaurant: chick fil a. we shared daddy's chicken strips, and then he let me play in the play area longer than i ever have before. even though we played for a long time, i was still upset when we left. but then daddy took me to the grocery store to pick up a couple things, and before we checked out he went to the florist area and picked out a balloon for me. i love balloons. it didn't make me stop missing mommy, but it definitely helped.
this was my last day with just daddy, and it was exhausting! we got up early again. after i shared a bagel and cream cheese with daddy (my new favorite breakfast) he loaded me into the car and we went to the metro. after what seemed like a really long ride we got out in washington dc at the national archives stop and walked to the national gallery of art. daddy loves art and mommy thinks it's just okay, so this was a great chance for him to take his time looking at all kinds of art. the claude monet paintings were my and daddy's favorite. but really my favorite thing to do was push help daddy push my stroller. if he stopped to look at a painting for a couple seconds i got really annoyed--i wanted to keep pushing! after being at the museum for an hour and having fun, i was really, really, really hungry! daddy doesn't understand my schedule like mommy does, so i tried to tell him i was hungry. but to him it just sounded like i was screaming and crying. finally, after 45 minutes of me telling him, he finally got a clue and took me to mcdonald's at the smithsonian air and space museum. after i got some food and shared his diet coke i was much happier. then we went back to the national gallery and looked at some more paintings. i'm like mommy and can only look at paintings for so long, so i fell asleep. since i seemed happy, daddy parked us at the indoor garden at the museum and read a book for awhile. then it was time to go home. we stopped at starbucks, but daddy wouldn't share with me--he said something like it was too hot. i really had fun on the train ride back to our car, but didn't enjoy the car ride home. i laid down for a little while at home, then played with daddy and finished my pasta salad.

Hilarious...sounds like carl did a great job with his version of single parenting - ice cream and all. Glad Reagan survived!
It's a good thing you have Lindsay or Reagan might weigh 100 pounds by now with all the french fries and ice cream and suckers...but sounds like she got a good work out each day :) Sounds like you all had a great time...I was disappointed though that you didn't leave Reagan in Louisville so we could visit with her! Can't wait to see you all at the wedding!
